Disabled By VAX Code – Weighted

Exploratory Data Analysis

Of those who became DISABLEd post vaccination, which vaccines were given, weighted by the number of reactions for each vaccine?

Field Analysis:

Because the average number of vaccines given per VAERS_ID is not one, but greater than one, the resulting total numbers for DISABLEd and Reactions are larger than found in the single table VAERSDATA.

Analysis:

Disabled: n=24,847
Reaction Count: n=1,155,341

Of the 92 VAX codes, 88 reported at least one DISABLEd post vaccination.

Of the four vaccines that did not report any DISABLEd, each one had less than 11 reactions in the entire database.

Analysis of Results 1:

DPIPV had the worst DISABLE per Reaction ratio: 50%. Although, this is a very small sample size of only 2 reactions, and 1 Disabled. Seems this vaccine was only used for a very short time.

Six vaccines report a disabled rate of 10% or more.
DPIPV, LYME, HPVX, MM, ADEN_4_7, PLAGUE

21 vaccines report a disabled rate of 5% or more. Most are small sample sizes. Of the 21 vaccines, only 4 vaccines have a Reaction count of 1000 or more: LYME, HPVX, HPV2, HEPAB.

Large group Summary Statistics:

Large GroupPCT_Disabled_Per_Reactions
n24
Min0.76
Max4.96
Median1.67
Mean1.97
Standard Deviation1.01

Large group standard deviation is smaller than the mean.

Still, the difference between Min (.76%) and Max (4.96%) is in multiples. The max value is 6.5 times larger than the min value. Lots of variability.

Mid size group Summary Statistics:

Mid Size GroupPCT_Disabled_Per_Reactions
n29
Min.52
Max15.00
Median2.03
Mean3.28
Standard Deviation3.38

Standard deviation is slightly larger than the mean.
Higher values for the Mean and Median than the large group.

Small group Summary Statistics:

Small GroupPCT_Disabled_Per_Reactions
n39
Min0.00
Max50.00
Median4.11
Mean5.92
Standard Deviation8.00

Standard deviation is 1.33 times larger than the mean, even with the four vaccines with zero Disabled.

Higher values for the Mean and Median than the mid size group.

Notes:

Between vaccines, there is huge variability in the Percent Disabled by the number of Reactions.

This would imply that some vaccines result in more Disabled than others.

The smallest group has the highest percent of disabled per reactions. This might suggest that perhaps some vaccines have been discontinued for safety reasons.

If anyone knows the history of any vaccines in the small group, please leave a comment.
